CEPT FULL ACADEMIC
The CEPT Full Academic Test consists of two subtests:
Communication Skills Test
This is a real-time online interview that assesses the test-taker’s ability to use English in a Q&A format. This 15-minute interview is conducted live online with experienced and trained CESL faculty.
Academic Skills Test
This is a computer test that assesses the key academic skills of Reading and Writing, with components that assess vocabulary knowledge and grammatical competence. It takes up to 2 hours to complete, but you determine how much time you spend on each section. CESL uses online exam proctoring, which monitors test-takers for use of outside help while taking the test.
To prepare for the CEPT Full Academic, please read the following document before you schedule your appointments:
- CEPT Full Academic – Test Guide, which provides a detailed description of the two subtests and includes sample questions. It also lists resources that you can use to prepare for the test.
SCHEDULING TEST APPOINTMENTS
Our CEPT Full Academic test is very popular, so appointments fill quickly. The only available dates are those listed on our scheduling websites. Please do not send e-mails requesting earlier dates and do not schedule multiple appointments. You can reschedule by returning to the scheduling website. If you do not see the "reschedule function", it’s because it’s less than 24 hours until your appointment, and we only allow rescheduling when it is more than 24 hours before the appointment.
Please note that there is no set order to take the subtests. You may take the Communication Skills subtest or the Academic Skills subtest first -- it's up to the test-taker.
You must complete the subtests within two weeks of each other. This means there should be no more than a two-week gap between the Communication Skills subtest and the Academic Skills subtest.
