I was born and grew up in a small town in Siberia, Russia. My fascination with languages, cultures, and literature led to BA in Russian Philology with a specialization in teaching Russian as a foreign language. After moving to the United States, I decided to continue my education and I completed my M.A. and then Ph.D in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching. I taught Russian language at the University of Arizona for 8 years and I was lucky to get a chance to work with CESL faculty and students for the last few years. I love working with students from all over the world and I am very excited to provide academic support to CESL students and help them achieve their dreams. As an English learner / user with nearly 25 years of experience and language educator, I understand the challenges of learning a new language as well as living and studying in a new country. I am looking forward to working with CESL students!
