As a Cherokee storyteller, I am keenly aware of the important role which motivation plays in learning. In over 25 years, my teaching career has taken me to places as diverse as Texas, Japan, Florida, the Navajo Reservation and Tucson. In my role as Library & Information Services coordinator at CESL, I encourage students to discover the joys of reading, both for academic improvement and for a fuller, richer life. As a teacher, I strive to bring the same thing to my classes that I work to create in the Library: an atmosphere of “focused fun” conducive to learning and exploring. The best part of each day for me is the time I am privileged to spend with students.
