Part 1
- Learn to talk about yourself, your family, your work, and your home
- Learn about foundational topics in U.S. civics, including:
- U.S. geography
- Important symbols and celebrations in the U.S.
- American Democracy
- Thomas Jefferson and the Declaration of Independence
- Benjamin Franklin and the Constitution
- Do practice interviews and tests to help prepare and feel more comfortable
Part 2
- Learn about the naturalization interview process
- Learn more advanced topics in U.S. civics, including:
- Rights and responsibilities of citizens
- U.S. government structure
- Colonial North America
- The American Revolution and Constitution
- U.S. history in the 1800s
- Modern U.S. history
- Do practice interviews and tests to help prepare and feel more comfortable

Admission Requirements:
In order to enroll in these classes, applications must meet the following requirements:
- At least 18 years old;
- Copy of Photo ID
- Proof of MMR (measles-mumps-rubella) vaccination if you were born after 1956.
- We recommend at least a high beginner/A2 level of English. Please see the A2 descriptions here in English, Spanish, and other languages to see if this is a good fit for you. CESL also has a placement test.
