In Spring2, March 11 – May 3, 2024 , CESL will be holding a Citizenship Preparation course to aid in the USCIS Naturalization Interview.

    Part 1

    • Learn to talk about yourself, your family, your work, and your home 
    • Learn about foundational topics in U.S. civics, including: 
      • U.S. geography 
      • Important symbols and celebrations in the U.S. 
      • American Democracy 
      • Thomas Jefferson and the Declaration of Independence 
      • Benjamin Franklin and the Constitution 
    • Do practice interviews and tests to help prepare and feel more comfortable 

    Part 2

    • Learn about the naturalization interview process 
    • Learn more advanced topics in U.S. civics, including: 
      • Rights and responsibilities of citizens 
      • U.S. government structure 
      • Colonial North America 
      • The American Revolution and Constitution 
      • U.S. history in the 1800s 
      • Modern U.S. history 
    • Do practice interviews and tests to help prepare and feel more comfortable

    Admission Requirements:

    In order to enroll in these classes, applications must meet the following requirements:

    • At least 18 years old;
    • Copy of Photo ID
    • Proof of MMR (measles-mumps-rubella) vaccination if you were born after 1956.
    • We recommend at least a high beginner/A2 level of English. Please see the A2 descriptions here in English, Spanish, and other languages to see if this is a good fit for you. CESL also has a placement test.
