I am originally from Brazil and I have over 14 years’ experience in language teaching. I am a Senior Instructor and the Assessment Development Coordinator at CESL. In addition to teaching ESL classes and doing ESL/EFL teacher training, I provide professional development in language assessment for all faculty members and develop assessment materials. I received my MA in TESOL and a certificate in University Teaching from West Virginia University in 2012, and I am currently a PhD candidate in the Second Language Acquisition and Teaching program at the University of Arizona. My doctoral research addresses issues in language assessment and language teacher assessment literacy. Other research interests include adult second language acquisition, teacher training, development of second language learners' pragmatic and intercultural competence, curriculum development, and materials design. My personal interests include traveling, being out in nature, reading, and spending time with friends.
